BUYER-SELLER MEET AT EEI RAJENDRANAGAR on 15-03-2024

As part of NABARD sponsored project on “Strengthening FPOs through Good Agricultural Practices: Crop diversification, Technology transfer, Yield Gap Analysis and Value Chain Management” a buyer-seller meet was organized at EEI Rajendranagar . Smt . Susheela Chintala, CGM, NABARD, Hyderabad was the chief guest of the inaugural while, Dr, Seema, Dean of Agriculture, and Hon’ble Member, Board of Management , PJTSAU, Dr V. Sudha Rani, Director of Extension , Dr. C. Narendra Reddy , Associate Dean , College of agriculture , Rajendranagar and Hon’ ble Member , Board of Management , Dr. M. Jagan Mohan Reddy , Director , EEI , Dr. K. Madhu Babu, Project Investigator and Professor, EEI, Dr. Gumma Golmath, Director , MANAGE , Dr. Prasad Rao, Chairman and MD, Evergreen co. CEOs of FPOs, Chairmen, FPO Members, DDM -NABARD Vinay Kumar , Piyush , CO-PIs of the project have attended the meeting. The chief guest and CGM NABARD, Smt. Susheela Chintala while addressing the gathering has explained various schemes of NABARD for the benefit of the farmers and requested the FPOs to avail the services of NABARD. On the occasion, she also explained that, there is a need to increase the support of FPOs to strengthen them further. On the occasion, she appreciated the efforts of PJTSAU in taking up the project on strengthening FPOs. Dr. Seema, Dean of Agriculture, PJTSAU has briefed about the importance of farming and informed that, Agriculture to be made profitable, FPOs shall play major role and every FPO shall strive to be unique in its branding based on unique quality of the produce. On the occasion, she appreciated the efforts of project staff for this buyer-seller meet. Dr. V. Sudha Rani, Director of Extension, PJTSAU while interacting on the occasion said that, group dynamics plays a major role in the effective functioning of FPOs. Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, R Nagar has briefed about the importance of FPOs and there is a need to give orientation from the marketing perspective so that agriculture can be profitable. Dr. M. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Director, EEI on the occasion, gave a glimpse of scope of marketing opportunities and avenues for selling the produce. Dr. K. Madhu Babu, the project investigator has briefed about the overall progress of the project. Buyers from various companies, CO-PIs, farmers, FPO members, office bearers have participated in the panel discussion and interacted with the farmers. Various products brought from different FPOs were displayed on the occasion.
