KVK, Palem in collaboration with AICRP on Agroforestry, PJTSAU and Institute of Forest Biodiversity, Dulapally, Hyderabad organized a training programme on Agroforestry Systems at Seminar Hall, KVK, Palem on 30.04.2024. In this programme, Shri.E.Venkat Reddy, IFS, Director, ICFRE-IFB briefed about Policy and legal issues for promotion of commercial tree cultivation of Sandalwood. Dr.S.Pattanaik, Sc-G&GCR, ICFRE-IFB emphasized about Nursery & Cultivation techniques of Sandalwood & Red sanders for agroforestry systems. T.Usha Rani, DGM, PSPD, ITC ltd., Hyderabad narrated about Profitable Production of Eucalyptus and Subhabul. Dr.A.V.Ramanjaneyulu, Principle Scientist created awareness about importance of agroforestry systems, nursery management and varieties suitable for the Nagarkurnool District. Dr.T.Chaitanya, Scientist (Soil Science), AICRP on Agroforestry brifed about Silvicultural practices for profitable production of Malabar neem and Bamboo. Sri.S.Lakshman, Horticulture officer briefed about Quality Planting Material in Agroforestry. Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, PC, KVK, Palem, PJTSAU brifed about KVK activities, demo units and other extension activities for the benefit of the farming community. Dr.A.Shankar, SMS (Horticulture) discussed about major issues in mango, guava and oil palm crops and answered the queries raised by the farmers. In this programme, Dr.S.Vanisree, PS (Oil seeds), Dr.Shashi Bhushan, PS (Millets), RARS, Palem, KVK Staff and 62 farmers were participated.
